Scheming Xiang stood in astonishment as he surveyed the massive chamber. He noticed that in the middle was a crystal box, containing a stone tablet. To his amazement, the tablet resembled that which he had obtained the killing technique from!
“It’s not a person,” said White Gossamer. “This is actually an evil spirit, the kind that resides in a body of water, but due to accumulating too much resentment, it became an evil spirit. It often appears in dangerous places.”
The evil spirit was powerful, strong enough to send Xiang flying with just a punch. As he stood up again, the spirit roared and turned into lightning that charged at him. Its terrifying speed smashing against the concentrated thunder energy in the chamber, causing thunder to resound.

Xiang was sent flying again by the evil spirit’s punch, crashing hard into the stone wall. Dark smoke rose from his chest as it emitted a sizzling sound, sparks of electricity shining around him.
The evil spirit struck again with a lightning strike, chasing after Xiang once more.
“Bastard!” Xiang quickly retreated using Shrink Ground Step, but the evil spirit punched into the wall furiously. The violent force shook the chamber violently.
This chamber was quite durable, showing no signs of cracks despite being continuously attacked by the evil spirit. Indeed, this was a place where one could obtain the killing technique.
Xiang was certain that the crystal box contained the killing technique and would need to defeat the evil spirit in order to obtain it.

The two fists collided fiercely, the force creating a shockwave as they exploded into a burst of sound. Xiang and the evil spirit were both sent flying, impacting against the stone wall.
The evil spirit roared as purple lightning surged around its body, causing it to suddenly swell. Its black muscles became even more grotesque as veins crisscrossed its body, emitting a terrible force that charged at Xiang with even greater speed.
“No time to play!” Xiang’s chest shone gold as the Terrifying God Seal appeared, releasing a boundless force. The seal grew to resemble an ancient bronze cauldron, the mouth facing the charging evil spirit.
When the evil spirit was about to touch the Terrifying God Seal, a flash of light appeared at its base and shot out like a bolt of lightning. The golden letter ‘Seal’ glowed like a net, covering the evil spirit’s body. The glowing letter pressed onto the spirit as if it was trapped in a formation, sticking firmly to the stone wall no matter how much resistance it offered.
The ‘Seal’ was the pinnacle of Terrifying God’s knowledge, just a single character that contained boundless power. This was the first time Xiang had used it to attack, and he had expended a significant amount of power in doing so. At that moment, he nearly lost his footing.
The Terrifying God Seal grew to the size of a human fist, held in Xiang’s palm.
“Amazing stuff! This thing used on demons and monsters is as powerful as the Green Dragon Demon Slayer Blade!” Xiang said in admiration. “Surely, Terrifying God is a true god king to produce such powerful items and be willing to give them away.”
The evil spirit was already subdued by the Terrifying God Seal. The ‘Seal’ could suppress all demons and monsters, trapping the evil spirit in place with its power. The spirit struggled once but was soon trapped by the ‘Seal’, unable to exert any force.
Xiang sighed in relief and quickly recovered his strength. He then took out the Green Dragon Demon Slayer Blade, slicing through the evil spirit!
“Let’s refine this fellow into a pill. It might look disgusting, but I still want to taste it anyway,” said Dragon Snowchi.
The evil spirit was strong enough to be refined into a pill, so Xiang immediately began using the Heaven Refinement technique.
